Central European Rally

What fans of fast bikes had only dreamed of until then became a reality in the fall of 2023. Specials known from the world's most famous competitions included in the FIA World Rally Championship (WRC) series were presented on the tracks of the Šumava special stages. Thanks to the cooperation of the Czech, German and Austrian organizers, an enterprise called the Central European Rally was created, and so the most famous pilots of the current rallysport visited Prachatic to check the regrouping and to the changing zone. Spectators could personally meet eight-time world champion Sébastien Ogier from France, there were also other champions Kalle Rovanperä (Finland) and Ott Tänak (Estonia).
This year, there will be an official checkpoint in Prachatice during Friday's stage, where the first cars will arrive shortly after 11 a.m. in the direction from the dam of the Husine dam immediately after completing the attractive Šumavská Hoštice special stage. A photogenic passage through the Lower Gate, followed by a short stop with refreshments for the crews in front of the municipal office building, will be an experience for the participants and, of course, the fans as well. After that, the racing cars will continue along Křišťanová, Husová and Zahradní streets to the roundabout and on to Klatovsko, where the next special stage will start. The entire starting field of the Central European Rally will pass through the large square, which will remain closed to all traffic for the necessary time. The moderated program will end there at approximately 1:30 p.m.
