Great views, swimming and attractions on the deserted side of the dam.
The route starts at the railway station in Jetěnice. First go along the Jetěnický stream to its mouth to the Orlík dam. Behind the village of Červená nad Vltavou you cross the railway, which leads across a 68-meter high and 253-meter-long bridge. It was built in 1889 and at that time it was the second highest bridge building in Austria-Hungary. But in 2019, the bridge will be removed and a new one built.
Follow the red trail to the Hrejkovický stream mouth. Just outside the mouth of the creek you can go down to the dam where you can relax by swimming on the large beach where the local cottagers anchor their vessels.
You can take a short walk to the Church of St. Bartholomew, which was moved above the flood line due to the flooding of Orlík reservoir.
The rest of the route leads along the green and then the red tourist route back to the train station in Jetěnice..
