The Open-Air Museum in Vysoký Chlumec is a rescue-type facility, preserving valuable monuments of rural architecture, which illustrate the development of the folk house from the mid-18th century to the early 20th century in the Central Bohemian Uplands and in the central Vltava River.
Since 1999, residential, economic, technical and small sacral buildings from Central Bohemia have been gradually transferred to the natural area in the creek valley. Interior exhibitions show the way of living in the village at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. The offer includes regular seasonal exhibitions on folk architecture
