Take a look at the town from above.
The route starts at Alšovo Square in Písek. In about a kilometer you will come out of the hustle and bustle of the town and find yourself in the peaceful countryside. Along the way you will pass four ponds with interesting names (Trubka, Bašta, Tichávek a Beran - Trumpet, Bastion, Silencer, and Aries) and behind them is the U Vodáka game park, where you can see mouflons. They can also be watched from a wooden observation room. Then follow the blue-marked hiking trail. On your way to Jarník you can stop at the Písek foresters lookout point just below the lookout tower. The tower rises on a hill and protrudes above the tree-tops.
From the lookout you will continue along the blue tourist trail and after less than half a kilometer you will get on the educational trail Path of Gemstones.
The path will take you to the quarry above Nový rybník (New Pond), where you will cross the red route. On the way to Písek you will come across a rock cellar and a former tourmaline quarry.
